Coffin containing the uncorrupt relics of the monk Gerontii who asceticised during the XIV Century (commemorated 01 April). He was a monk of the Kiev-Pechersk monastery and fulfilled the obedience of canonarch (a tonsured position higher than a reader; responsible for reciting a number of responsorial portions during liturgical services). He spent all his life at the monastery, in ascetic deeds of abstinence, obedience and prayer.
